Bodø to Stamsund

I have to say that I was impressed by the excitement that we all had in Bodø.
After we got off of the overnight train, we dropped off our bags and then wandered off to find a little breakfast place to eat crepes stuffed with way too much strawberry cream.
After we were properly full, we all went to a bowling alley. It was hilarious. We actually didn’t bowl at all. Instead, we played pool in various groups of teams.

Now, most of us really were not skilled in the art of pool and Abraham even earned his Jones Name (Super-scratch Jones). I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe and Leslie was constantly muttering “let me see the damage I can do”.

After a while we realized that we should get going otherwise we would miss our ferry. I was expecting your normal somewhat comfortable ferry for four hours. Like the ones we took in Greece. Instead, after getting lost in the streets on numerous occasions, we came face to face with the giant cruise ship that would be taking us to Stamsund.

I’m not sure how long the whole cruise was for the normal passengers, but we were like hitchhiking on a month long cruise up Norway. There was a restaurant, hot tubs, a pool, a lounge and a windy deck with very comfortable chairs. We weren’t allowed on some of the floors because that’s where the rooms for the actual guests were.
The kids split off in search of the pool but then we were sorely disappointed when it was EMPTY! No water in the pool.....it was sad.
After we were done being angry, we went to the lounge and ran into a couple of the parents from the group and ate snacks etc. My dad was off taking a sauna and hot tub.

It was fun and the view from the windows was extraordinary. The mountains rose out of the ocean looking like the backs of trolls and the sun jumped in and out of the fluffy white clouds.

We were on the ship for four hours and eventually we got to our new home - Stamsund.

Love you all,
WM
