"Homesick for Italy"

As you all know, we were in Italy for a month before Japan.
Last night, the group on the Pilgrimage split up for dinner to spend some time on our own. My dad took the idea very seriously and got a “reservation for one” at a little restaurant on the edge of town. This left his daughter and his wife to fend for themselves. It turns out that the said women were absolutely wonderful when it came to fending for ourselves.
We honestly couldn’t eat another Japanese meal that night (I was getting tired of fish heads staring at me while I ate). So, we set off to find some other food.
Eventually we found an Italian restaurant.
I think the quote of the night might have been: “I think I’m homesick for Italy.”
The menu was in Japanese and Italian so we could read it! When I saw the word “Antipasti” on the menu I almost cried. We ordered a pizza and ate it............and the ordered another pizza and ate that one.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that we were wearing our traditional Japanese Yukata throughout the meal.
Love you all,
Willa Marie
