And We’re Off

Our Jubilee year begins.
The bags are packed, goodbyes said, and Lucy safely bonded with our dog sitter. First stop: Italy. Five days in Florence, then Christmas in Venice and three weeks in Assisi and Umbria. Bene!
Then we’re home to enjoy February in Chicago.
Then in March we go to Japan: Kyoto perhaps for the beginnings of the cherry blossoms, ten days in the Takayama a small town in the Japanese Alps. We’ve booked a ten day walking tour on Shikoku an island with over 80 Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines. Then some free time.
In May we go to Greece by way London and Stratford to feed the kid’s interest in Shakespeare. Some time in Athens and then several weeks on smaller islands.
Back home again and then the final trip is still being worked out but it looks like a stop at the amazing performance festival Oerol on Terschelling Island in the Netherlands and then into Sweden and Norway to visit friends working on a puppet show north of the arctic circle in Lofoten.
